International attention for debate about EU animal transport: AFP quotes our project manager
The international news agency AFP (Agence France-Presse) has published a detailed article on the deadlocked negotiations on the new EU animal transport law. The law is intended to introduce stricter rules for animal transport—such as shorter transport times, more space for animals, and temperature restrictions—but is currently stuck in political gridlock.
Our project manager Tea Dronjic is quoted several times in the article, which has appeared in various international media outlets. In it, she criticizes the inadequate transport conditions and describes the attitude of some member states as “very worrying.” Tea Dronjic emphasizes in the article that animals need enough space during transport to be able to stand stably, and refers to recent operations on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, where our teams have once again documented serious abuses.
The mention in an AFP article underscores the international relevance of our work and shows that our research and statements are increasingly being heard – even at the European level.
You can find the article in full length at France24, Barron's, Yahoo News and many more news sites as well as in print form in the newspaper "The Scottish Farmer".
