Media Report on New Investigations into the “Spiridon II” Case

Our new investigations into the tragedy aboard the livestock transport ship “Spiridon II” are attracting international attention: Numerous media outlets are picking up on our findings and reporting on the new evidence and the serious allegations against the Austrian organizer of the transport of nearly 3,000 cattle.
Various media outlets—particularly in Austria and German-speaking countries—are currently reporting on the “Spiridon II” case. This is also increasing public pressure on those responsible and on policymakers to finally take action. This widespread media coverage is no coincidence. It is the result of months of intensive investigative work by our team.
Our project managers traveled to Turkey with a journalist from ORF, reviewed contracts, and analyzed video footage documenting the dire conditions on board. The goal was to secure solid evidence to explore legal action against those responsible for this tragedy.
The fact that global media interest in the case remains so high is important: public attention creates transparency—and transparency is a prerequisite for change. The more people learn about these events, the greater the pressure becomes to no longer ignore these abuses.
For us, one thing is clear: this attention must not go to waste. It must lead to concrete action—legally, politically, and socially. We will continue to monitor the “Spiridon II” case and keep the public informed of new developments.
