Poland | Bodzentyn | Cattle market
Today our team is inspecting the Bodzentyn cattle market. It is raining heavily, the ground is muddy. Checking the condition of animals and taking the photos is difficult. There are a lot of trucks and cattle this time. We count about 500 animals. The majority are cows and young cattle. Just after 7 o’clock we notice a young bull lying next to the fence. He jumped over the bar where he was tied and fell down. The owner unties him and starts dragging him. The bull is frightened, stressed, and is not able to move. We reprimand the trader and say he should check if the bull is not injured, and give the animal more time to rest and calm down. Luckily, after a few minutes the animal gets up from the ground without any harm. We also document emaciated cows and animals with overgrown hooves, very few this time. All the infringements will be reported to the Veterinary Inspection. Because of poor weather, the market ends early and all animals are loaded a few minutes after 8:30am.
