Serious animal welfare violations in PMSG production in Iceland: criminal charges filed!

Following the publication of our research from Iceland last fall, we filed a criminal complaint for animal cruelty together with the Icelandic animal welfare organization Dýraverndarsamband Íslands (DÍS)! Together, we reported the serious animal welfare violations we found during our research on blood farms in Iceland to the police. 

Our footage clearly shows that blood mares are being beaten and kicked, that their heads are being held down by force, and that panicked and apathetic animals are not being helped. The footage shows serious and systematic violations of animal welfare laws. We do not accept this! 

Despite our evidence, the veterinary authorities remained inactive for a long time. Now, together with DÍS, we are calling for an independent investigation before the next blood season begins in late summer!
