The Syntex farm is located in a very remote area. We see hundreds of horses in open fields. Parts of the fencing are made of barbed wire, posing a risk of injury. We detect a thin white mare that appears to be weak and apathetic. While all the horses around her are grazing, she is lying down and not moving. The tails of many mares are cut short, what probably means that they are currently in the period of blood extraction. Not surprisingly, we do not see any foals. According to eyewitness reports, the foals are systematically aborted on blood farms.
The blood farm of Syntex consists of approx. five buildings. There is a large lairage area, used for the blood extraction. Next to this roof-covered area there are open pens, which seem to be empty at the moment. There is also a white, well secured building, which might be the laboratory. When we drive by, we note that the entrance gate is closed. There is a big red sign prohibiting the access of individuals who are not authorized.
