Poland | Monthly report October | Voivodship Swietokrzyskie | Farm Animal Service
In October, our FAS team in Poland visited 23 farms. The farriers trimmed hooves of 23 horses and claws of 5 cows and 1 bull. Most of these animals were limping and needed our help. The abscess was the reason of lameness of a cow in Szerzawy and a bull in Krajno. The same reason caused lameness of a horse in Dobruchna. A mare in Tychow Nowy and a stallion in Mlynek had more serious wounds and our farriers had to put dressing to protect the hooves. In Mnichów, a stallion named Lupi had problem with eating and needed to have his teeth trimmed.
Our team noticed a few positive changes at some farms. In Gosciecin, the farmer fulfilled his promise and built a kennel for his dogs and improved his stable. Now his horses have access to water all the time. In Brody, the horse owner installed an electric fence and his horses can be turned out untied. In a farm in Lesna, the farmer is going to improve the stable. The first step will be concrete floor.
At a farm in Grzegorzowice, which is under our constant supervision, the manure was finally removed and horse is regularly turned out on a paddock. In Dobruchna, Mrs. P found a dog on the street. Unfortunately, she cannot keep him because her dogs are attacking the new one so she needs to find him new home. Our team administered flea protection for the dog.
